Painting Oil, Acrylic, Pastel

In the past 20 or so years, Brad Walters’ art has mostly been in the automotive arena. He has developed his skill with the airbrush to much acclaim and there are many happy owners of motorhomes, motorbikes etc with wonderful murals displayed. In fact, when the boat builders of Team New Zealand’s 2013 America’s Cup challenge wanted the kiwiana ‘buzzy bee’ painted on their rudders – Brad’s name came instantly to mind and the enormous rudders were duly delivered and painted by Brad.

He discovered that automotive paint was an excellent medium to use on glass splash-backs and has been commissioned to airbrush paint scenes on splash-backs for both kitchens and bathrooms. Kitchens are an excellent place to stamp your own mark, and many fridges have had a special touch added to them by Brad – and of course the blokes beer fridge has been an excellent object for art.

Brad is moving towards acrylic on canvas and favours large pieces. He gets his mojo from his backyard – acres and acres of native forest, waterfalls, birdsong and serenity. Here he plays with light and beautifully captures the essence of the forest. His works are large and serene.
