UkuToi Studio, Art and Clay

Rhonda’s work is inspired by Maori mythologies, Aotearoa NZ’s past and its effects on our present and future. Continually acknowledging her mixed heritages of being of Maori and Pakeha descent is important to her. Her latest works are inspired by her maunga, mountains, and the stories and histories they contain.

Since gaining her BAA in 2000 and becoming a member of Nga Kaihanaga uku and Taitokerau Maori Arts Collective Rhonda has been travelling and exhibiting nationally and internationally.
At present her gallery/studio Uku Toi is set up at her residence in Waipapa where she also promotes other Maori artists.

Rhonda Halliday has highly burnished ceramic pieces and is influenced by her dual Maori/Pakeha heritages

Uku Toi Studio is open by appointment.
