Belinda Wilcox
Painting

Belinda is an emerging artist, having been a high school English teacher for 25 years - all words, no time for images.

Once she quit teaching, she discovered there is an artist inside of her. It turned on like a light switch, to her surprise and delight.

Her paintings are abstracts, featuring large scale pattern in an embossed overlay of acrylic on the ink background. She uses quite a lot of pearlescent and iridescent paints, and love playing with the translucency of the inks, so the originals take on a life of their own in different light settings.

In essence, they are about light, from the cosmic fabric to the innermost microcosmic, with an overlay of the structures and forms our consciousness brings to that cosmic foundation.

She has also made a recent foray into spray painting mannequins. So much fun!
