Year Round Art Opportunities

For eight years, thousands of art lovers have descended on the Far North during Labour Weekend for a rare chance to meet the town’s artists and see them at work in their home studios.

Due to COVID 19 and the uncertainty regarding travel and social distancing, the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Trails were cancelled.

2023 was a wonderful event with over 4000 visitors and 143 artists exhibiting through collective art hubs, galleries, shared studios and individual studios.

Many of our artists are full time with their art and design, some also run art classes and others have galleries which are open to the public as well as their working studio.

The Far North is renowned for the range and skill of it’s artists and designers, ranging from painting and ceramics to jewellery and sculpture.

You can meet many of the KOAST artists at Arts and Crafts Markets around the Bay of Islands.

On Saturdays from 8am until 1:30pm The Old Packhouse Market on Kerikeri Road, opposite Makana Chocolates, is open and KOAST artists will again have a corner leading up to the 2024 event.

And you can follow us on Facebook too!!
