Year Round Art Opportunities
For the last six years, thousands of art lovers have descended on Kerikeri during Labour Weekend for a rare chance to meet the town’s artists and see them at work in their home studios.
Due to COVID 19 and the uncertainty regarding travel and social distancing, the 2020 AGM have postponed this year’s event. However, plans are underway to replace this with online events and other exciting developments, so watch this space.
However, as well as this once-a-year-event, many of the KOAST artists do have their art studios open throughout the year to visitors or will open by appointment.
Just check their website for further details or give them a call to make a time to visit – you can find their details on the artists’ pages on this website.
Many of our artists are full time with their art and design, some also run art classes and others have galleries which are open to the public as well as their working studio.
Kerikeri is renowned for the range and skill of it’s artists and designers, ranging from painting and ceramics to jewellery and sculpture.
You can meet many of the KOAST artists at Arts and Crafts Markets around the Bay of Islands.
On Saturdays from 8am until 1:30pm The Old Packhouse Market on Kerikeri Road, opposite Makana Chocolates, is open and KOAST artists have a corner in the open air crafts area.
You can also find KOAST artists at Paihia’s Craft Market on the Green.
