Established in 2015, and celebrating a decade this year, Little Black Gallery showcases a dynamic collection of original artworks by both local and national artists. The gallery features a wide range of mediums, including painting, glass, jewellery, ceramics, photography, sculpture, and more.
With a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, the gallery is dedicated to making quality art accessible to all. A vibrant community of both established and emerging artists contributes to the diverse and ever-evolving collection.
For KOAST 2025, the gallery is holding an exhibition Rhythm of the North which brings together the diverse voices of Northland’s artists — from jewellers and ceramicists to painters, sculptors, and glassmakers — each responding to the natural flow and pulse of our region. From tides and bush to birdsong and breath, Rhythm of the North celebrates the deep connection between place and creative expression.
Expect work that reflects the ebb and flow of coastal life, the textures of native forests, the stillness of misty mornings, the beauty of shifting skies and the energy of Northland itself. The result is a journey through the Mid - Far North — one of movement, memory, and materiality.
Featuring both established and emerging local artists, this is a curated glimpse into the creative soul of Northland, during the KOAST -Tai Tokerau Art Trail. Visitors are invited to explore a rich variety of works at Little Black Gallery, stop 42 located at 394B Kerikeri Road.
