Esther Dexter is a full-time, award-winning artist based in Northland, New Zealand, who exhibits both nationally and internationally. She is known for her unique mixed media paintings that incorporate hand-painted shattered glass and LED lights; a technique she invented herself.
Esther’s dreamlike and emotionally charged works explore memory, place, and the deep emotional connections we hold. Her intense personal energy is palpable in every piece. Over her career, she has sold more than 800 artworks worldwide.
Her achievements include multiple selections as a top ten artist at major New Zealand art shows in Christchurch and Dunedin, along with commendations and awards such as the Upper Clutha Art Prize and merit awards at the NZ Easter Show in Auckland.
Esther’s portfolio includes intricately textured contemporary landscapes and abstracts, as well as prints and cards derived from her extensive body of work.
