KOAST is a wonderful art event each year for Kerikeri in the picturesque Bay of Islands, where an amazing array of artists reside.  Working in a wide variety of media, you’ll find artists, potters, jewellers, painters, sculptors, wood carvers, furniture makers and photographers to name a few. There are also artists producing fibre art and ceramics.

The last two years have seen over 60 exhibitors taking part  and we’ve had well over 3000 visitors attending the trail, many from out of town.

Due to COVID 19 and the uncertainty regarding travel and social distancing, the 2020 AGM have postponed this year’s event which would have taken place from  24 – 26 October 2020  (during Labour Weekend) .  However, plans are underway to replace this with online events and other exciting developments, so watch this space.

Although KOAST will not be held this year, members of the public will still be able to visit artists at work in their studios, chat with them and enjoy a wide selection of media once we are into Level 2. Using last year’s KOAST Trail Guide  which lists artists, their locations and the medium they work in, visitors can plan a weekend spent exploring Kerikeri’s art scene.

These artists can be visited all year round – just check out their listing on this website and give them a call or email them.  Some have their studios open all year, others by appointment.

And if you’re from out of town and are looking for accommodation, you could choose from among our accommodation supporters.
