Sasha Russell is the heart behind Art with Sasha; a creative space dedicated to sparking confidence and imagination through art. Based in Northland, Sasha runs classes for young artists aged 5 -14, encouraging them to explore freely, without pressure or perfectionism. Her nurturing, Bob Ross–style approach gently guides while celebrating each child’s unique perspective.
For Koast 2025, Sasha is proud to showcase a vibrant collection of artworks created by her students. Full of colour, story, and personality, each piece reflects the magic that happens when children are given the time, space, and support to create on their own terms.
Alongside her students’ work, Sasha also presents a small selection of her own art; loose, expressive urban sketches inspired by everyday life in Northland. Passionate about community connection, she regularly hosts free local sketching meetups to encourage creativity in all ages.
Joyful, raw, and full of heart, Sasha’s exhibition invites viewers to witness the beauty of creativity unbound.
